February 2004 Time: Day 19 October 2002 Was not fishing myself but there were 20+ fish caught from Blyth beach Saturday night .the lads found a hole created by these heavy seas lately, and they all had fish out of it .mainly codling didnt find out the weights of the fish but no doubt there, l of been 1 or 2good ones among them. fishings been good up in Tynemouth and Northumberland these last few weeks due to these long spells of heavy seas. ABOUT TIME ASWELL MIND ,THINGS ARE LOOKING UP. Ronnie 15 September 2002 Quay Fished the river on the South side, down from the town. Fished the ebb tide to bottom and two hours up using lugworm and whiting. Had a mixture of whiting, flounder and eels including an eel of 3lb. Andy 16 July 2002 Pier Plenty of whiting ,to small though , had 1 decent flattie 2lb 3oz put up a decent fight Eddie 2
January 2004 Time: Day 18 November 2003 Pier
(North Side) Started of just before 4.30pm bit windy but fishable myself and our
lass was fishin with mackeral and squid only there half of hour and she had a
right bite and it slack lined her pulled it in a 2 lb codling carried on fishin
and pulled another 12 whitein and just before we left had a bite that took my
rod of the stand but nothin to report 25
October 2003 8 August 2003 Fished south pier 10pm to 2.30am on saturday morning, had 1 small doggie. Fished again 12noon to 5.30pm 5 small flatties, used rag, lug, squid and mackeral, but caught on the rag and lug Nigel 3 January 2003 Time:Day We arrived (8.30am)low tide, couldn't get any lug so fished with mussel's tipped with squid. we never had a bite untill after 12.00.It started to snow and I thought bugger this, but then they started to have a nibble. The fella next to us gave us some worms and that did the trick .Caught upwards of 20 whiting(not brilliant but not bad)half a dozen flatties and 3 small codling. the fella down from us caught a couple of decent sized cod but nothing else,so i thing we had the better day.we left about 8.00 after what started out has crap turned into a cracking day. Pete 6 November 2002 Time: Fished North Pier 4 hrs up and 2 hrs down. Whiting and dab all undersized but good fun to lug and mackeral. Plenty of weed about. Chris 5 November 2002 Time: Whiting in abundance, used Fladen Combo power stick with okuma Reel , Bait Ragworm /sandeels ,weather fine ,Arrived 5pm for the tide left 10pm,had fun ,whiting to 1lb mark . Angela (fem of the Rod) 19 September 2002 Time:Day Fished the big wheel again and was lucky enough to catch a Bass. Messingham was amazed that the fish appeared to have already been gutted but I put that down to my overall luck and skill. Messigham caught zero as usual. Billy Nomates 15 August 2002 Time: Day First of all it was looking a bit dismal until they started to bite my first fish was a 27cm flounder my second fish was a bass (schooly) then another bass of roughly the same size then another Flattie I was using lugworm what had been dug the day before which I bought from Cleethorpes angling centre thanks bob but I was even more pleased because I beet the bloke next to me well catching fish isn't everything I suppose or is it oh well I'm off l8r 2 day so I hope 2 get more I might even try mars bar anyway ill let you know how I get on thanks Lucas Gooderson 1 August 2002 Time: Day I fished near the leisure centre and it is the first time I have ever been there and got white washed not a fish to be caught but the problem was not the bait not the reel not the rod not the line or anything like that there was speedboats coming up to 50yds in these are a constant problem down Cleethorpes and I think they should keep well out of the anglers way there nothing but a pest there all right when they're not snapping you off all the time and churning up the water near you're leader you politely ask them to move and they just carry on so does any one know how the law stands on this or are you just better off filling them in!!!!!! Lucas 4th July 2002 The battle between me and John Messingham is getting quite hot now, could you make a posting above his last one suggesting he put the bait in the water. Many Thanks.
3 July 2002 I have been fishing the Big Wheel site now for weeks (trying to beat the impressive run notched up by our local hero Billy) with NO luck at all. I've tried Lug, Peeler,Rag and Mackerel what else can I do?? John Messingham

plenty of action with small codling which was a good sign. Then about 2
1/2 hours into the session a slackliner a couple of minutes later a
codling about 3lb. 5 December 2002 Pier Started at 20-00 at the 44 mark. Not many fishing. Not much sea running but a cold NW wind dropped tempatures nicely. My mate stool warrior got first fish with his first cast a dab of about 8 to 10 ounces. I followed with a 1and1/2 pound coddling, then got third fish of night a 12ounce whiting. Stool warrior got fourth and last fish of night another dab slightly bigger than first. All but coddling were returned to see, and all fish were caught on worm baits.
