4 January 2003 Time:Day

Me And my Mate Fished at Just a bit higher up Arnside/ opposite side of railway bridge. High Tide About 12.20pm. All we caught was a few flounders, but also like the last person who put a report in, the fish had open wounds on skin like a disease or a parasite was attacking the fish... Which really put us off. And a lot off sewage and other matter just lately has been floating around........

12 December 2002 Time: Day

Went up to Holker Hall on a big tide. Got there too early and had to wait for an hour for the boar to run its course. Was worth the wait though as 2 of us pulled near 40 flounder ashore. Sizes between 1/2 lb and 1 and 1/2 lb. Horrid day, good fun with 3 rods between us we were never in the water and caught every cast (almost). Lost one hook. As a matter of some concern, some bar stewards have recently been dragging, as before the boar water came in we caught several heavily scarred and infected fish. I've reported this to the environmental guys so hopefully they can help stopt it. Took about 15 descent fish home, threw the rest back, lost one hook, great day.

13 October 2002 Time:Day

Arrived at Arnside 0600hrs high tide was 05:20 7.1m. Cold frosty morning, recent rain had no noticable effect on water in river Kent. Caught 6 flounders (24cm - 36cm) mainly on rag and 2 hook flappers, bottom snood being favored. Tried with mackeral tip but no takers. As low tide approached bites tailed off but managed to lure two flounders with rag baited flounder spoon. Some surface movement thought to be sea trout.

31March 2002 Time: Day

Arrived at 09.00 to set up ready for the 10.30 high Tide which was 10 metre tide.  Very poor fishing was had by all, out of 12 of us we caught 3 fish using Black lug, mackeral, squid.  The tide came in with such force we had a job to hold bottom no matter what weights we used.  For anyone thinking of going to Greenhod, be sure to check height of tide if it is not a 9 metre no tide will come in.

Whitehaven Cumbria

27 September 2002

Fishing from the Large Pier. As soon as it got dark the Whiting went mental only a couple out of around 50 plus were worth keeping, found it difficult not to catch them, the small ones became quite a pain. Mackerel being the prefered bait but I think they would have bit on one of my old socks! Didnt even have to replace bait after unhooking catch. Things picked up about 2 hrs before high tide (between midnight & 1am) when we started hitting the Dogfish. Between two of us we got 8 in 2 hours rough weights around 2-3lb each apart from one which was much bigger, all unhooked and returned. Got home at 6am and went to bed, roll on next outing!!!!!
