Loch Etive

22 April 2001 Time: Day

Hired a boat for the day and fished some favorite marks using half a sandeel tipped with makeral fillet.
We caught Spurdog constantly on the rising tide, at this time of year the females are full of young and can easily reach double figures.
We took 2 young kids with us and the 10 year old spent most of the day bringing in fish the biggest of which was weighed at 8lb.
Boats can be hired from Ian Campbell 01866 822372
On leaving the mooring at Airds Bay sail up the loch and look out for a white house on the left hand side, you should see 2 bhouys in the water.
Tie up to the one marked Hughie for some good action.
This mark fishes best on the rising tide,on the ebbtide try fishing near the fish farm on the right hand side.

Sea well stirred up and rough but wind didn't seem that high.  Casting on 20lb line with 35lb shock leader but lost gear as fast as we could re-tie rigs.  Next guy up using 50lb line was OK - but had no bites by time we left.

Sleat, Skye

20 March 2002 Time: Day

Off east coast of Sleat,Skye

No fish off Skye. If there are, they had a good laugh at me! Gave up after two days. Tried my hand at fly and caught 10 brown trout ranging from 8oz-2lb. Anybody want to by a beachcaster?

Andy

Tayport

14 June 2003 Time: Day

Fished at Old light-house, 3 hours up to high tide and one hour past; used fresh lug and mackerel - plus spinning with toby: one good bite, but failed to land.  Baits decimated by crabs - guy fishing 50 yards to my right (i.e., down-river) caught nice sea trout on herring, but also lost loads to crabs.
