The history of fast food premiums goes back longer than most people would think and started in 19xx with a now defuncked company called xxxxx. It wasn't until 1974 that an assistant manager at the St. Loius' McDonalds tried the idea of promoting the burgers to children, and then dawned the Happy MealÔ. In 1978in Kansas the first national luanch of the Happy Meal took place with the introduction of the "CIRCUS WAGON" toys. Since then every few weeks a new Happy Meal promotion is introduced. Most of the reset of the world had to wait until at least 1980 to see the Happy Meal with the UK not getting the toys until 1985 with the release of the "Fast Macs" toys.
