An inhabitant of the planet Kubindi, Garindan is probably the greatest spy in Mos Eisley. He has acquired the nick-name 'Long Snoot', as he has a long nose. This is typical of the Kubaz, as is their sensitivity to the red-wave lengths of light, which was why Garindan wears dark goggles over his large eyes. Kubindi is an arid planet, and Garindan's skin is like that of a lizard's. And like lizards, Garindan likes to dine on exotic insects. He is hardly ever seen aroun Mos Eisley without his trademark hood and long robe, which makes newcomers question his species. In fact there are a nuber of questions surround Garindan that will probably never be answered. It is said that he is extremely wealthy, but is never seen with mored credits than he needs. Although if he does need them for information, he always has some to hand, however much the price is.
Anyone can buy Garindan's information, if they nough credits. As he is the greatest spy, he can demand high prices for his work. The local prefect on Tatooine pays him handsomley, and will continue to do so until Long Snoot finds a better deal. The Kubaz is so good at his job that he even managed to find out information about Jabba the Hutt while the slug was still alive. Not many have been able to this and lived to be payed for what they found out.
Throughout his career, Garindan has completed many assignments, but none had ever threatened the Alliance as much as the one involving Threepio and Artoo. The prefect had hired Long Snoot to find the droids, and when he did so, Garindan brought stormtroopers to Docking Bay 94, where Threepio and Artoo were boarding the Millenium Falcon. Han managed to escape from Tatooine, but only just.
Nowadays no-one knows where Garidan is. After Jabba died, it is unlikely that he hung around, as there was so much chaos between the warring factions who wanted to take hold of Jabba's crime empire.
