Khabarakh

Khabarakh comes from the planet Honoghr, and is a member of the species known as the Noghri. The Noghri are feared throughout the galaxy as pure killing machines; fearful to behold, deadly to encounter. Like the rst of his species, Khabarakh has grey skin, large eyes, and extremely sharp teeth. They have great stealth, and because of the colour of their skin, they are difficult to see in the dark.

The Noghri people had owed the Emire a huge debt since the Clone Wars. This occurred because Hionoghr had been devastated by a huge space battle that had taken place above it. During the battle, a ship had crashed on Honoghr, causing the release of toxic gas and huge groundquakes. It left the land around it utterly useless for growing crops. Vader travelled to Honoghr, and realised the potential of the Noghri as assassins. He expolained to them that the planet had been ravished by the Rebels, and that if the Noghri people joined the Empire, he would see to it that the Rebels paid for what they had done. As well as this, Vader and the Emperor promised to send supplies to Honoghr, in order to get the planet back on its feet. They sent worker droids and cleanup crews, but they were all programmed in such a way that the Noghri would be indebted to the Empire indefinately.

The Noghri believed they owed Vader for everything, and did his bidding unquestioningly. When Darth perished on board the second Death Star, the Noghri moved their services to Grand Admiral Thrawn, who appeared a few years after the Battle of Endor.

It was during a mission for Thrawn that Khabarakh suddenly realised how much the Empire had been lying to his people. He had been sent on a mission, along with several other Noghri Death Commandos, to capture Leia Organa Solo. The mission failed, and the Death Squad was wiped out apart from Khabarakh. Leia wished to speak with him, and when she met him, Khabarakh instantly recognised her scent. He called her the Mal'ary'ush, the daughter of Vader. He knew that this woman must not be killed, for she might be able to save him and his people.

Against the wishes of those around her, especially against those of Han, Leia agreed to meet Khabarakh and show the Noghri people the Alliance were not the evil people they thought them to be. They rendezvoused over Endor, the site of Vader's death, and travelled to Honoghr. There Leia talked to the leaders of the Noghri people, but Khabarakh was captured by Thrawn and called a traitor. The young Noghri was then imprisoned and humiliated. But then Leia found proof of the Empire's deceit, and the Noghri people rose up behind her.

They freed Khabarakh, and he became part of her ten-Noghri strong honour guard. The Noghri then helped the Alliance attack Mount Tantiss, and aboard Thrawn's Star Destroyer, the Chimeara, the Grand Admiral's personal bodyguard, Rukh, who was also a Noghri, came to his senses and killed Thrawn.

Now the Noghri are rebuilding theor planet, and this time there are no lies. The Alliance wants to see Honoghr regain its rightful place in the galaxy. Khabarakh is working in the hidden valley named the Future of the Noghri. He knows the planet will not be healed in his time, but he will have helped it along the way.

Khabarakh will go down in Noghri history as the one who stood up and defied the Empire, and brought peace to his people.
