Unlike his Force-strong parents, Tigris was born without any powers. Born to Rillao and Hethrir, students of Darth Vader, Tigris grew up knowing nothing of his father. When his mother gave birth to him it was on a distant planet, far from Hethrir who had stayed on to serve Vader, ultimately aiding in the destruction of his own world as a show of loyalty.
Growing up without a father made Tigris susceptible to father figures, something which Hethrir took advantage of when he found his estranged mate and son. Not telling Tigris who he really was, Hethrir had Rillao enslaved, while his son acted as his personal servant.
Deeply disappointed that Tigris had no Force powers, Hethrir soon abandoned plans of making his son heir to his planned ‘Empire Reborn’. But Hethrir warped the boy in other ways, making Tigris think of his mother as a weak fool. He thought so ill of her that at one point, while seeing her being held in a torture device, Tigris turned his back on her.
On Hethrir’s worldcraft Tigris helped his father look after the running of the ship, where dozens of children were held prisoner. If they had no Force powers, they were sold into slavery; if they showed signs of talent, they were turned to the Dark Side. Thankfully Tigris was not completely heartless like his father, and would often bring the children food and water when Hethrir’s back was turned.
Ultimately it was Anakin Solo who really touched Tigris and made the young boy question his father. Hethrir had kidnapped the three Solo children, and Tigris had made some sort of connection with the youngest, Anakin.
By now Rillao had been rescued by Leia, and was waiting for Hethrir and Tigris when they came to Crseih Research Station to ‘purify’ Anakin. This meant that Hethrir was going to feed Anakin to the Waru, who would transfer the boy’s Force powers to Hethrir. It was here that Tigris learnt his true heritage from his mother, and was so shocked and horrified at his father, that he snatched Anakin away from him. The Waru imploded and took Hethrir, ridding Tigris of his Dark Side influence.
No longer under the control of his father Tigris went back to Coruscant with his mother, together joining the New Republic. Rillao did not know what Tigris would with his life, but she did know one thing: he was safe from the Force, a double-edged blessing.
