One of the initial twelve Jedi students to study at Lukes academy, Tionne was not as naturally gifted in the Force as the other eleven around her. This, however, did not deter her in any way, and she sought other methods to enhance her skills.
A large part of the students training was consulting the Jedi holocron, a remnant of the great Jedi Vodo-Siosk Baas. For the eleven students, this was important, but took a back seat to lightsabre training and other skills. For Tionne, though, the hours spent with the holocron were very important, and Luke recognised this.
Anyone with Force talents was important to Luke, and he allowed Tionne to make ballads of the Jedi stories found within the holocron. Others used the Force for combat and healing, but for Tionne it played an integral part in her music. Many hours were spent composing haunting music, using the Force to weave the notes together to make the Jedi history come alive with music. Tionne even built an instrument on which she would compose and play her songs. It was made of two hollow resonating boxes, with a shaft fixed across them. On the shaft was a series of strings, each one giving off a different note when plucked.

Research also played a big part of Tionnes life, and it was thanks to her that Luke is still alive. She became interested in the story of Exar Kun, and began to research his life. She learnt many things, including how he had been defeated before. This information proved invaluable, since Kuns disembodied spirit was still alive in the Massassi Temple where Lukes academy was. Kun had planned to lure the students to him, and bend them to his will. Tionne warned her fellow trainees, and showed them how the combined powers of past Jedi had defeated Kun many years ago. The young Jedi lured Kun into the grand audience chamber, and surrounded him. Seeing that he was losing, Exar began to mock the students. He singled out Tionne, saying that she was weak and how she would never become a Jedi. He was wrong, and eventually the twelve students destroyed Kun forever.
It was after that event that Luke named his students Champions of the Force.
Eventually Tionne became entrusted with more and more responsibilities, until, nine years after Kun had been killed, she was left in charge of the academy when Luke had to depart on a mission. She was to look after the academy, and train the new students.
Tionne was every bit as good as Luke at teaching the ways of the Force, and sometimes her methods of using parables, fables, and music proved even better than Lukes methods. Having found her own special skill, Tionne went on to teach the younger students how to find theirs.
She may not be very adept in the Force, but with Tionne around, the galaxy can be sure that many Jedi will step forth, not fearing the future, and prepared for anything that may come at them.
