Weequays

The Weequay's were among the strongest of Jabba's enforcers. They were silent and efficient, but also stupid. Some of the Weequays lived in the palace, and lived in absolute obscurity. There was no way of telling them apart, except by looking at the ceremonial top-knots they wore in the way of hair. Their skin, brown and leathery, was exactly the same for each Weequay. As a result of this and their efficiency in killing, they became nearly as feared as the rancor. These fears came to a head when rumors were flying that banthas were being slain by the Weequays for ceremonial purposes. The banthas were huge, and were thought of as almost impossible to kill by a being the size of a human. This killing enraged the Sand People, and so Jabba told the Weequay to stop the slaughter. To take suspicion away from his men, the Hutt had the remains of a moisture farmer placed near the bantha corpses.

None of the Weequay had names, apart from one. Ak-Buz was the commander of Jabba's sail barge, and had to make sure that it was in perfect working order whenever the Hutt wished to travel. But when Barada found the body of the murdered Ak-Buz, the remaining Weequay huddled together, deep in discussion. The murder disturbed them, and they did not know what to do. Soon other bodies turned up, and eventually the Weequays turned to their god, Quay, for assistance in finding the perpetrator of the crimes. It was Quay who had given the Weequay their name, for Weequay means 'follower of Quay'. The god was questioned throughout the day, but no answers were given. The Weequay were desperate, as Jabba was sailing to the Pit of Carkoon to execute the Rebels that day.

But as no answer was given, the Weequay had to return to their duties. Several of them went on sand skiffs, accompanying the trio of Rebels. The rest went in board the sail barge with the Hutt. When the Rebels attacked, the Weequays on the sand skiffs died first. The others perished when the sail barge blew up.
