Yarna D'Al'Gargan

Yarna came from the planet Askajia, and was the daughter of a chieftain tribe. She was a dancer, and often danced in honor of the tribe. She was married to Nauteg and mothered four cubs. But one of her children was slain when a slave-raiding party swept through the village, while the other three were taken by the slavers, along with Yarna and her husband. The family was taken to Tatooine, to Jabba's Palace. The cubs, however, were sold to the Imperial prefect in Mos Eisley. This was a great loss to Yarna, but she saw an even greater one as her husband stood up to Jabba, defiant in the face of oppression. This naturally annoyed the Hutt, whose reaction was to open the trap door beneath Nauteg and send him to the rancor. With her family either dead or taken away from her, Yarna now had nothing to live for. But she lived with the hope that she would one day see her remaining cubs again, and to do so she had to everything in her power to survive.

She had danced all her life, and did so for Jabba and his court, her six breasts undulating as she threw her body around in time to the music. On most planets she would not be described as beautiful, maybe handsome, but not beautiful. Jabba, however, saw her as nothing but beauty. In some way she reminded him of his mother, especially when she wore warty patches on her face. For this reason she was allowed to sign a contract that would one day grant her freedom. There were other dancers in the Hutt's court, and they looked at Yarna as a mother figure. But Yarna never really got to know any them all that well, for Jabba would often have them killed within a few days. Then Bib brought a young Twi'lek dancing girl, Oola, telling Jabba that she was one of the most graceful dancers the galaxy had ever produced. Oola was also beautiful, and was therefore the target of Jabba's disgusting advances. She would not dance, even after being warned by Yarna of the consequences. She knew that Jabba would not appreciate her, and so the dance would be meaningless. But on the third day of her employment, she did finally dance, but would not allow herself to giver in to Jabba. Having had enough, and to Yarna's horror, the Hutt sent Oola to the rancor. Yarna was sick, but this did not last long. Luke entered Jabba's Palace, and soon the mighty Hutt was dead, his sail barge having blown up. Yarna, who for some reason had not traveled with her master on that fateful trip, was finally free to see her cubs again.

If the whole experience had been a nightmare, then it was over. She had woken up, and could now see the light at the end of the tunnel.
