Essentially I'm a drummer. That's how I began & I dare say that's how I'll finish.
With the advancment of technology, it was only going to be a matter of time before someone actually came up with a 'real' alternative to the acoustic kit. Often tried before but never quite reached, the Roland V-Drum system hits the nail on the head.
I won't go on about the actual kit in these pages but follow the links page to find out for yourself.
I use the V-Drum for most of my sessions for many reasons. Firstly, it's very, very versatile. Not only is it a kit in the traditional sense, but it can be whatever you want it to be. Check out the sessions I did for the 'Indian Dance Fusion' library album released on Cavendish (Cav CD 117) - real tablas or V-Drum? You tell me.
You can also find my V-Drums on the recently released Cavendish album 'Metal Matrix' (Cav CD 124) and many other releases.
If you wish to hear the V-Drum in full swing, head to the 'music' page & listen to the music being written for Audio Network plc.
I have a full TD-10 system with the TDW-1 expansion board and V-Cymbals.
In the upcoming months I will upload my personal V-Drum kits to this page for you to upload into your V-Drum head. If you want to know which kit I used on which track, email me if it's not included here, & I'll post it on the site.
Here are a few samples of my personal kits recently used on recordings & sessions.
I'll try to pinpoint which kit appeared on which session.
All information is saved as MIDI files which should load up into any sequencer, and only contain specific kit settings so you will not overwrite any other settings in you V-Drum head.
