Tuck originated from Gisborne,
a small city on the east coast of the North Island
of New Zealand. The East Cost is a very strong beef
and sheep area of the country. Tuck grew up on his
parents farm and started shepherding when he left
school in 1983. He began competitive trialing with
Border Collies and Huntaways at the age of 18. He
has continued to work with Border Collies and Huntaways
in mustering and trialing since. In 1990 a spell
was spent in Scotland as a shepherd, with another
spell in Hertfordshire in 1998 milking cows and
feeding stock. Tuck made a permanent moved to the
UK in 2002 with his wife Ali and took up a position
on an open farm. |
