Seighford
This was my first ever race and I was pretty nervous. We camped over on the Saturday night and whilst out playing I tripped and landed with my knee on a rock. During the night the pain in my knee woke me a couple of times and in the morning it was very stiff. Dad thought that nerves had got the better of me and almost had to drag me round the track to check it out. When we got to the gate for practice, I couldn't get my leg over the bike and had to be lifted on. Dad still thought it was just nerves though. We were still running the standard clutch springs in the bike and this meant that getting away from the gate or even out of corners was a bit of a drag but I managed to pull back a few places from the rubbish starts. After the first race, mum put some cream on my knee but after checking the knee after the second race, it was up like a balloon. Dad did say I didn't have to carry on but I was having fun and stuck at it but made sure dad felt guilty for thinking I was making it all up because of nerves.
