   First of all welcome to our website and thank you all for taking the time to visit us.

MINUTES OF THE  MEETING  OF THE KING’S LYYN & DISTRICT PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE HELD IN THE RAOB CLUB ON WEDNESDAY  15^th February 2012

1.Opening:  The meeting was opened at  8pm by the PGP Bro Stephen Parkinson KOM  with  19 Officers, Delegates and Ex-Officios present

2. Roll Call of Officers: The roll call of Officers revealed 2 absent

3. Apologies:   The following apologies were recorded and accepted on a proposition by;

Bro. J Underhill ROH Seconded by  Bro C Bond ROH and carried.

January Meeting: Bro’s S Wilkinson KOM &  S Roofe ROH

February Meeting: Bro’s  P Child CP; L Watts ROH & T Mason ROH

4. Minutes of Previous Meeting: The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as a true record on a proposition by;   Bro D Yaxley ROH     Seconded by:  Bro P Jacklin CP Carried

5: Absent Brethren:  The Absent Brethren Toast was taken with due solemnity. This was followed by a collection for the Grand Lodge Benevolent Fund.

6. Announcements:   Bro. Les Watts ROH has now had his knee replacement operation and is back home recovering looking forward to his next game of squash.

7. Lodge Reports:

a.       ROH Assembly:

Low numbers but happy first meeting of the year

b.      Knights Chapter:

Doing OK, double 3^rd Degree Installation Sunday 19^th Feb

c.       RAOB Club:

Bro John Hunt ROH informed PGL that this would, in all probability, be his last report as club spokesman. Bro John stated that the club finances are not healthy and are in danger of running dry. He thanked those Lodges that have given financial help but more is required from Lodges that so far have not.

He also highlighted the fact that whilst Lodges have supported the Lottery, individual Brothers haven’t , another factor that would help would be Brothers taking out membership of the club. 

The Clubs AGM is being held on Wednesday 25^th February and Bro John asked that as many members of the Province attend as possible.

Following Bro John’s statement, Bro Steven Roofe ROH offered his help, as he himself had been through similar problems with the Ex Servicemen’s club in Wisbech.

d.      Appleton:  Going on well

e.      Archdale: All satisfactory

f.        Century: The 3 new Initiates are enjoying their Buffing. Double 3^rd Degree Installation Sunday followed by HM presentation

g.       Faith Hope & Charity: Visit by Medicine Man Lodge No. 10341 Canada GLD Tuesday 28^th Feb, all are welcome.

h.      Ouse:  Doing OK

i.        Philanthropic:  Happy Lodge no problems

j.        Royal Elizabethan: Not doing too badly unable to open last scheduled meeting due to weather conditions.

k.       Seymour Howard:  Lodge Dinner next Thursday, happy Lodge doing nicely

l.        Sandringham: No Delegate

m.    Wiggenhall:  Doing well;  raised £130 for the East Anglian Children’s Hospice

by holding a Horse Race night

That the PGP Appeal for 2011 currently standing at £1071.59 be rounded up to £1100.00 - Recommended

11. Examining Council Report:  Bro S Wilkinson KOM was elected as President for 2012

12. Benevolent Committee Report:   Emergency meeting called to follow meeting of PGL

13. Entertainment Report:  Nil

14. Book Examiners Report:    Bro S Roofe ROH & Bro M Taylor CP volunteered their services as Book Examiners for 2012; their offer was quickly accepted by the members present. The PGP Bro S Parkinson KOM thanked both Brothers for offering their service

15. Application to Raise: From Appleton Lodge – Bro John Sloan KOM to 4^th Degree

Proposed by Bro C Bond ROH seconded by Bro S Roofe ROH that the application from the Appleton Lodge be confirmed by PGL - Carried

16. Other Items

        I.            Small Society Lottery Licensing Basic CRB Check required on change of promoter.  The PG Secretary explained to the members present the reasons behind this check and that it would be at a cost of £23:00 to the Province. Proposed by Bro D Yaxley ROH seconded by Bro J Sloan KOM that the PG Secretary proceed as required by law - Carried

17. PGP’s Report:

On the 31 January 2012. The PGP & 8 of my Officers visited the Philanthropic Lodge. I would like to thank the  Brothers of the Philanthropic Lodge for the £20.50 for my appeal and a very enjoyable Lodge.  I would also thank the Brothers of the Wiggenhall Lodge for the £25.00 donation.

It is with regret that Bro Peter Child CP has tender his resignation as P.G. Alderman of Juniper.

My Appeal will now be for the Buff Club, with special attention being the redecoration of the Lodge Room.

Coming up

On the 19th February 2012 this Sunday there will be a PGP visit with PGL Officers to Century Lodge at 15.00Hrs to witness the Installation to the third degree of Bro Paul Jacklin C.P. Provincial Grand Chamberlin &                 

Bro Graeme Gurr C.P. and the Presentation of Honorary Membership to Bro Maurice King R.O.H.

On the 21^st February 2012 there is a PGP visit to the Royal Elizabethan Lodge at 20.00HRS

On the 24^th February 2012 I will be going to the Presentation of Honorary Membership to

Bro. Alan Whitelaw R.O.H. GP 1994

On the 28^th February 2012 I will be going along with members of the Philanthropic Lodge to visited the Faith Hope & Charity Lodge

On the 01^st March 2012 a PGP visit with PGL  Officers to the Appleton Lodge at 20.00Hrs

On the 08^th March 2012 a PGP visit with PGL Officers to the Seymour Howard Lodge at 20.00Hrs

On the 17^th March 2012, I will be attending the Installation of the Grand Primo Bro Alan Egan ROH.

 at Frome & Warminster Provincial Grand Lodge.

On the 18^th March 2012 PGP visit with PGL Officers to the Wiggenhall Lodge for Bro Scott Daniels 2nd Degree. He has requested that the ceremony be performed by Bro Gordon Coton KOM PPGP. Request granted by PGP.

On Wednesday 28^th March 2012 PGP Visit with PGL Officers to the Ouse Lodge at 19.30Hrs

19.  Presentation:   The PGP Bro S Parkinson KOM presented Bro J Herbert ROH IPPGP with a cheque for £1100:00 the end result of his appeal for 2011. Bro John thanked all the members present for the effort that they and their respective Lodges had put in in raising this superb amount.  Bro John further stated that we had all heard the report from the club representative, Bro John Hunt ROH, about the financial problems that the club is experiencing and that he hoped this money would be of some help.

20. Closing:  The meeting was closed at  21:10  by the PGP Bro Stephen Parkinson KOM at             with 19  Officers, Delegates and Ex-Officios present.
