Amos Charles KNIBBS, 1883-1961 & HMSM E8

The crew of HM Submarine E8, taken in 1915/16 when the E8 formed part of the Baltic Fleet, fighting alongside the Russian Fleet. The 'E' Class submarines had a complement of 30, so I believe this photo shows the entire crew. My guess is that it was taken aboard the Russian accommodation ship Dvina in the Russian port of Revel (now known as Tallinn).
My sincere thanks to Irene Davidson for sharing this photograph with us. Her dad, Allan John Chilvers (4th from the left, standing) was a stoker on the E8 at the same time as Amos.
During it's time with the Baltic Fleet, I've read that there were up to five Russian officers and two Russian telegraphists assigned to the crew which would account for the two Russian sailors in the photograph.
I haven't yet worked out for sure which one is Amos, but if I had to guess, I'd say he's the 2nd  from the right, standing, to the right of the Russian sailor.
