__________
Buried next to his parents James and Mary Jane McCartney in Dixon Cemetery in Lynxville, Crawford Co., WI. Died of stomach cancer. He was sick for a long time and couldn't eat. Ada told me that one day her grandpa Watson was visiting Tom and Tom said "Boy, I could really go for a piece of your wife's custard pie." G-pa Watson hurried home and had her bake a pie and took it back to him. Tom was so excited and quickly took a bite -- but he could not eat it.

Alice is buried at the Dixon Cemetery, Seneca Township, Crawford County, Wisconsin, USA, next to her children Arthur and Amy and granddaughter, Dorothy Lorraine.
Alice Amelia very nearly died from the same meningitis outbreak in 1872 that killed her brothers Ira, Thomas and Fred. It is said that a Native American Medicine Man cut open her spine and packed it with herbs - amazingly, she lived. She always had a bad back and was in a wheelchair as an old lady.
__________
Alice's husband Tom died in June 1906, and Alice remarried to a man named Lou Fry in 1915.

Notes for Child of Thomas MCCARTNEY:
This child probably died at birth and is simply recorded at C. T. McCartney on the burial marker. We suspect is simply, Child of Thomas McCartney.
