Tina Emery, a direct descendent from this family, tells me that they lived in Millom in Cumberland. John was a wagon examiner at the time they were building the west coast railway to transport the iron ore from the Cumbrian Fells. John Francis Knibbs, his father-in-law, was of course an iron ore miner.

Notes for Emma NORTH:

Also known as: Clara Knibbs

Although Emma appears in the 1881 census with the name of Emma Knibbs, she was born to Cecelia before she and John Francis Knibbs were married. It is presumed she was baptised as Emma North as that was the name she used when she married.

I believe she is buried in the Holy Trinity at Millom, Cumbria.
