Dear God,

Planning Application for an Inhabited Planet
--------------------------------------------

With Regard to thine application for a structured Universe, including an inhabited planet, the planning department hath maketh the following observations.

  1. Construction Method:- The Planning Department hath dealt in the past with all manner of materials and mechanisms for joining them into works. However, the Department hath never heard of the method "moving in a mysterious way".
  2. Quality Control:- The Department hath dealt with, and is familiar with, all manner of methods for ensuring that the Quality of works keepth under the Control required. Thou has specified an informal method, namely "looking and seeing if its good," which doth not meet the approval of the Department (ByeLaw 123, Section 14, Para 271).
  3. Distance between "Heavens" and "Earth":- Thou hast specified only for the provosion of a firmament. Please provide details on the separation distance (in Cubits).
  4. Description of "firmament":- Which part of thine works is the firmament and what is its purpose. The Department's handbook on "Great Works" hath no entry for firmament, so detailed plans (including cross-section) must be provided.
  5. Timescales:- The planning Department concerneth itself that "Six Days and a rest on the Seventh" is an over-ambitious timescale for a project of this type.
  6. Creation of Living Beings (unintelligent):- Thine description of these beings is insufficient as a specification. The Department will need more explicit details than "All of the creatures that do run and swim and crawl upon their bellies."

Thine Application will be retained by the Department pending thine response to these enquiries. No appeal is permitted and thine works must NOT be started without permission from the Department.
