Autumn 1998

Trench excavations for floodlighting and lightning conductor cables reveal the foundations of the now-vanished Saxon North porticus. Archaeologists also find a decorated mediaeval pin and a roof tile displaying a Stafford coat of arms.

December 1999

We learn that new research is being undertaken in Conches, Normandy, on the town's mediaeval priories in England, of which Wootton was one. A vigorous e-mail conference continues.

February 2000

Local historian Don Graham publishes a new theory about the squint in St Peter's Chancel. Available on e-mail request.
