Close strike!

This lightning strike was around 1 mile away. As with my previous attempts to photograph lightning, I used a tripod wedged between a radiator and the wall, and with the center column extended a foot or so (to afford some protection against splash-back from the window sill and from rain blown in at an angle). This on its own is quite an unstable setup, but I also had to press the shutter button down and try not to move the camera too much, whilst shooting in continuous mode!
