Heather, The Labradoodle
| This page contains
information and pictures for those who want to know about Labradoodles.
Much of the information on this page will be what I have experienced myself with Heather, my labradoodle and the pictures will be from her life experiences and relationships with her friends, both doggy and human. If you have found this site because you are interested in buying a dog, the labradoodle is a very good choice. They are friendly, loyal and very loving. They are very active at times so they can be quite a handful. If you are looking at this site because you already have a labradoodle then you are one of the luckiest dog owners around and understand why I have set up this website to introduce them to other dog lovers. If you have any questions regarding labradoodles, or any of the other dogs pictured on this website, feel free to e-mail me, Jo. |

Heather at 14 weeks
| Heather was born on 16th November 1995 in Leicester, UK. She is a first generation labradoodle and was born from white standard poodle and black labrador parents. Her most favourite hobby is playing with a ball. Swimming is also high on her list, anywhere, whether it be the sea, lake or dog swimming pool, as long as she can swim she is happy. Both Heather and Megan go with their friend Jack, a black labrador, to the Tomlinson Hydrotherapy Pool at Markfield once a month for leisure purposes. There, the three of them have a swimming pool to themselves and can swim around and play with toys as they please. Also, agility is a favourite. She goes to agility classes throughout the year and thoroughly enjoys it. |

| Heather and I were on television back in
April 1999 on a show called Pets Go Public on Good Afternoon,
Channel 5. It was mainly about Heathers interests and she
had to do certain things for the camera like jump a gate and
fetch a ball, which she did when asked without too many problems. Heather is very much an outgoing dog who seems to enjoy every moment of her life. When she first came home she found that she had to share the house with my sisters dog called Sadie, a border collie, who was about four years old. They both became very close especially as Sadie was very tolerent of puppies. Sadie moved out of the home with my sister in January 1999. They still see each other nearly everyday though. Her biggest test was on 11th February 1999 when we introduced a new puppy to the family. It was Megan, the golden retriever and she was only 15 weeks old. Heather was a bit apprehensive at first because she is so devoted to me. She wasn't sure she wanted to share me at first but soon accepted Megan as her own sister and now they hate to be apart for too long. Megan is now nearly two years old and Heather nearly five and even though Megan isn't interested in playing ball, unless it means taking it and teasing Heather with it, she enjoys swimming and does a little agility as well. In May 2000, Heather met Wu-Li, a beautiful cream labradoodle from Wiltshire. Together they had eight wonderful puppies, born on 17th May, three cream and five black. All were completely different in looks and by about five weeks old they all had different characteristics and personalities. They all left the family in July and August and went to loving homes around Leicestershire, Warwickshire, and Cambridgeshire. |
