Mouse highlight: A live Gene Kelly dances on screen with an animated Jerry (from Tom and Jerry fame). This was one of the first occasions when live action and cartoons were combined in a big picture - perhaps one of the first signs of Kellys experimentation which was to mark many of his later movies. |
