February
14th 2000 - Yucatan Mexico No place on earth but Chichen Itza embodies the climax
of wisdom and energy practices of the Toltec-Maya. Chichen Itza is the apex
of the marriage between the Toltec and the Maya, where the whole became greater
than the sum of the parts, where the knowledge, initiations and energetic transformations,
exceeded this realm and are geometrically housed within awakened, living temples
of stone. Following celestial omens, a journey to Chichen will be offered, as
this is the only place in the world where practitioners may experience the authentic,
awesome totality of the Toltec-Maya initiatory cosmos and see these energies,
housed within their encoded temple structures, with their very own eyes. Those
who accept the invitation to make this journey will be required to comply with
a most stringent purification, offering up all of the non-essentials of their
lives, in the hopes of being empty enough to receive even a minute portion of
the wonders that await. The Yucatan peninsula is a celestial land, honeycombed
ancient white limestone, flowing with sacred underground rivers, and with the
authentic living descendants of the Toltec-Maya, the Itzais, who still occupy
parts of the land all the way to the jungles of Tikal, Guatemala. The Journey
will begin with a purification at Xcaret, where participants will float down
the underground river of life and death. This site of ritual bathing for the
ancient Toltec-Maya was the beginning point of a journey of offering to the
feminine lunar and water energy of the goddess Ixchel. Dolphins swim at the
sparkling coast of Xcaret, which is now an eco paradise and a sea turtle hatching
area. If we are fortunate, participants will also witness the authentic, ancient
Mayan ball game, played on a sacred court in full regalia, and hear the blessings
of the feathered Toltec-Maya priests for the new fire at Xcaret. The next day
the group will journey to Coba, passing through small Mayan towns along the
way. Coba is a primal feminine priestess site within the jungle, still just
as the Maya left it, unspoiled by restoration or archeological digs.
