Royal Navy and Royal Marine Records of the Second World War

SERVICE RECORDS

I have listed below service records for the Royal Navy and royal Marines that are currently available. Later records are still held by the Admiralty, Ministry of Defence or the Historical Records office of the Royal Marines. Only the servicemen or women themselves or Next of Kin can apply for a transcription of the record. If the serviceman or woman is deceased a copy of their death certificate is required. If you require further information on an individuals service as stated below in OPERATIONAL RECORDS you can do one of two things. If you would like me to act as an agent I would need a covering letter addressed to the relevant department stating this. Otherwise you can apply yourself and pass on the service details to me. My fee for this would be £45.00, which includes the fee charged by the Admiralty or MoD for the record search. This would be payable in advance. Available records for Officers of the Royal Navy and Officers and Ratings of the Royal Marines show full service, in some cases to the 1950's. All service records for the RNR and RNVR for the Second World War period are still held by the MoD or Admiralty.
