	Indian Take-Away
	Situated on a street already occupied by a number of take-aways, the main focus of this project was visual impact.
Rather than opting for a traditional Indian theme, which had been adopted by several of the other take-aways in the area, the proprietor wanted to portray a modern and sophisticated appearance. As with all food establishments, the implications of health and safety influenced the completed scheme considerably.
	The finished scheme for the take-away adopted a space-age theme. This was created through the use of a silver finish paint and an arrangement of simple, bold tiles on the floor and walls.
Maintaining this modern, off-planet theme the lighting solution consisted of an arrangement of spotlights and recesses downlighters, along with illuminated stair-nosings.

Office Renovation
	It was proposed for this room to be used as an office by the Managing Director of a decorating company. The office was to be utilised in a number of ways, so the completed design needed to be adaptable in order to accomodate these requirements. Primarily, the office was to be used as a reception room in which to hold meetings with clients, in order to discuss their requirements. Consequently, the room had to be organised and presented in such a way that a warm and welcoming atmosphere was created, helping to put the customer at ease.
During consultations clients would often be required to peruse through a range of pattern books, therefore the lighting of the room was an important factor to consider. Subsequently, the office was to be used as a work base for the company, therefore the organisation and layout of the office needed to be such, that there was adequate workspace in which the Managing Director could complete his paper work.
	The chosen scheme centered on warm and natural shades, including browns, peaches and greys. When combined, these colours created both a welcoming and relaxed environment. Continuing this warm and calming theme, the office was lit using an uplighter to create a soft and ambient atmosphere. In addition to this, a series of spotlights were located at various intervals to provide concentrated light for task areas and also to highlight features within the office.
