Leutnant Werner Schror, a four-kill pilot (as his rudder indicates) with I/JG 27, flies his Me 109E-4 near the North African coast in April 1941, just after the Gruppe had arrived following the Balkan campaign. The white fuselage band indicated that the aircraft was operating in the Mediterranean theatre. Note also the sand/dust filter fitted on the port side of the engine. (W. Sturm via Herrman & Kraemer)
