StumbleUpon is a great web surfing tool. I've found that it has let me to a large number of very interesting sites that I can't imaging I would have found any other way. Be careful though, Stumbling can become addictive...

JobVent.com (Inside Information About the Jobs and Employers we Love and Hate) is the sort of site I planned to do myself at some stage, for the same reasons as the guy who started JobVent.com did. I've now been saved the effort.

XAT.org is an interesting site if you are interested in tax avoidance. They will also give you £200 worth of currency for registering and a further £50 if you publicise a product or service via their site within a week. You can also get £25 more as described here. You've got nothing to lose and the sooner you register the more you can potentially earn.

ABsoLuTeLy was a hilarious TV show. My favourites were Calum Gilhooley, Denzil & Gwynnedd and Frank Hovis on the lavatory… Fortunately I now have Absolutely Everything on DVD (Thank you Michele).

A Psion Series 3a was my first "personal computer" in 1995 and I became a "power user" of this machine, using it for faxing and e-mailing as well as many third party applications and the built in software. I was able to use it in just about any location and it became a great tool for allowing productive or entertaining activities in otherwise "dead" time. The database that became the basis of my second book which started its life on my 3a. When Psion introduced the Series 5 I was able to upgrade my old, battered faithful 3a to a Series 3mx for a bargain price. By this stage I had ceased to use the Psion for everything and was using a conventional PC for e-mail.
In 2002, when Psion announced that they were ceasing production of their palmtops, I decided to finally upgrade to a Series 5mx. The 5mx is another superb machine and a significant proportion of my third book was written or researched with the aid of my 5mx. In 2003 my 5mx suffered a failure (about 5 minutes after I had backed it up) and for the first time I knew the sense of loss of not having a Psion available. So I went back to using my 3mx, which was like the return of an old friend, but I still had no easy access to some data on my 5mx. So while it was being repaired and to avoid this scenario occurring again I decided to invest in some spare Psion machines. I therefore bought another 5mx and a Revo Plus. I loved the latter machine since it does everything that I actually need and is a smaller neater size than the 5mx, but unfortunately it has now died.
I have used my Psion(s) for e-mail, faxing, writing, note-taking, databases, an address book, a diary, spreadsheets, playing games, a calculator, an alarm clock, solving crosswords, as a back up for my desktop PC(!), making phone calls and it has also helped me get two job offers. In more ways than one my Psions have certainly more than paid for themselves which is why I want to keep my ability for mobile computing with a keyboard, a rock solid operating system and a long (days/weeks) battery life for as long as possible. I may have to buy another Revo+, but mobile phones have now become so powerful that I often tend to use my phone for organising my life simply because it is there. Also PDA technology keeps moving ahead and I'm so confused by all the options that I bought a small Filofax! At least the battery never dies on that!
Useful Psion links are Clove Technology, Psioneering, Psion Place, 3-Lib.
