Absinthe

Absinthe

Aggedy Ran

The operations must begin on the New moon.

What is needed?
2 glass wide mouth mason jars that can be sealed airtight.
2 pieces of cloth: one with a green invoking pentagram one with a crescent
1 ounce of dried
½ ounce of star anise
¼ oz. Hysops
2 tbsp. Dried parsley
At least 1 liter of 100 Proof Vodka

In one of the jars crush the wormwood down to the bottom of the jar, add some vodka and crush again, add more vodka and crush, finally add more vodka until it is just covering the surface of the wormwood. Seal it, store it is darkness, it should sit upon the cloth with the green invoking pentagram. Shake it twice a day but do not expose it to any light.
In the other jar mix and crush the remaining ingredients, add vodka, crush again, add vodka, crush again, and more vodka until it just covers the herbs. Seal it store it in darkness, it should sit upon the cloth with the crescent moon. Shake it twice a day in darkness.
After two weeks pass, during the full moon take out the moon jar and strain contents through cheese cloth, squeeze thoroughly. Then take out the wormwood jar, be careful that it is not exposed to any light except for moonlight. Open the wormwood jar and add the mixture from the moon jar. This is feeding the fairy. Stir them together, go Clockwise 7 or 8 times.
Replace jar on the invoking pentagram and shake twice a day for two more weeks. At the next New moon remove contents, strain through cheese cloth, squeeze thoroughly and bottle for consumption. Never open the jars during incubation periods.

There are easier ways to make Absinthe but for those with a magickal sensitivity this recipe lends itself more easily to interface with the Green Fairy (La Fee Verte). Beware of the usual things, long term use allegedly causes dementia, and of course it is illegal in many places.
