Teletubbies love the rabbits that hop around Teletubby Land - do you?
Would you like to bake some yummy Tubby Biscuit Treats?

Make sure that your hands are nice and clean and that you have a grown-up to help you. Baking is good fun, but it can get very messy!

You will need:
Sieve
Kitchen scales
Big spoon
Small spoon
Rolling pin
2 baking trays
2 bowls

Your ingredients are:
170g (6oz) margarine or butter
170g (6oz) caster sugar
340g (12oz) plain flour
170g (6oz) icing sugar
A little water
A little milk
Green food colouring

To make the biscuit shapes your grown-up helper will need:
A piece of card
Pencil
Safety scissors
Knife

Right, now that you've got everything together, you're ready to make your Tubby Biscuit Treats!

First, ask a grown-up to help you weigh and measure your ingredients.
Sieve the flour into a bowl and put it to one side.
In another bowl, use your big spoon to stir the margarine (or butter) and the caster sugar together. Keep stirring until they look soft and creamy. Add the sieved flour to your creamy mixture.
Stir the ingredients with your big spoon for a while and then - this is good fun - start kneading the mixture with your hands. Kneading means to squeeze and fold your ingredients together into a dough.
Add a little bit of milk to your dough so that it isn't too dry. Good dough is nice and firm, it shouldn't stick to your fingers or flake off.

When you have finished kneading your dough, gently sprinkle some flour over the work surface.
Take your dough out of its bowl and, using your rolling pin, roll your dough out flat. Keep rolling until it is just a bit thicker than a Smartie.
Right, now that you've got your dough ready, it's time to get your grown-up helper to cut out the rabbit shapes.

Ask your grown-up helper to carefully cut around the rabbit outline using a pair of safety scissors.
Then, put the card rabbit shape on top of your flat dough and ask your helper to cut around the shape of the rabbit with a knife. A grown-up must do this for you, Teletubbies know that knives are sharp!

Tubby Rabbits are magical - they can sit up straight! Your grown-up helper can make 12-16 biscuits from the dough, and they will need to cut out 12-16 oblong shapes for the rabbits to sit on.
When your helper has finished cutting out the biscuits shapes and the oblong shapes, put them onto your ungreased baking trays.
After you've cut out your rabbit shapes and put them on your baking tray, all you need to do is to cook your biscuits and then ice them.

Ask your helper to put them in the oven for you. They need to cook for 12-15 minutes at 160-175°C (325-350°F) or Gas Mark 3-4.

When they are cooked and a grown-up has taken them out of the oven, let them cool down.

While they are cooling, take your icing sugar and, using a small spoon, blend in a little water - not too much! The icing should coat the back of your spoon smoothly and evenly.
When you have made your icing, add 3 or 4 drops of green food colouring and stir it all together. When your rabbit and oblong shapes are cool, you can have lots of fun!
Using the back of your small spoon, spread the green icing over the oblong shapes - wait until it is almost set, then stand your rabbit shape on top! Your rabbit is sitting on the grass in Teletubby Land!
Now all you need to do is add a drop of icing on each side of the head to make the eyes.

Your Tubby Biscuit Treats smell yummy and they look cute! Why don't you share them with your family and friends?

Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po think Tubby Biscuit Treats are delicious!

Notes:
For the shapes, you can also use the cutters given away byTeletubbies Magazine, instead of making rabits.
Biscuits such as these make excellent food offering during Teletubbie rituals (more on these later).
