V.223.7 - Order of the Golden Showe

A Representative of the Order of the Golden Dawn, came to visit our fair village last night (14th April 1999); all the way from SoCal, no less. Here's my impression of the event:
It was *like* being repeatedly told, in a dozen different ways that you can alter the state of your mind by *using drugs*, that although *drug using* has become a large part of *popular mainstream culture* that should in no way detract from the solid work being done by *proper, certified, initiated *drug users* present there that night.
That it's important to *use drugs* several times a day, not necessarily for any magickal purpose but rather to reafirm to yourself that you are a *drug user*.
That it's important to *use drugs* in specified ritual ways worked out by more experienced *drug users*.
That all forms of *drug use* may lead to a breakdown in internal mental barriers and that a certain aqmmount of inner turmoil/fuckedupness is only to be expected.
That you should keep records of your *drug using* and not feel bad when your commitment to records of *drug using* remain unfulfilled after a couple of weeks. In fact not to be suprised at your total inability to get anything done : what's important is to remain focused on *drug using*.
That you should *use drugs* in controlled situations with other *drug users* and talk about your *drug using experiences* with them.

We were told that she (the Rep) was willing to give free lessons on how to *use drugs* to change your mind and that you should try it.
Now.
Today.
Tomorrow.
(and remember to buy the black robes from Us...)

What she didn't tell us was : where to score some *drugs*, how to actually take them, specific effects, *drugs* to avoid, problems of long-term *use of drugs*- in other words anything useful.
(And i suspect that if you don't want to *use drugs* that it's your EGO talking but when you do, then it's your TRUE SELF. Now do what you're told...)
Also even if you have *used drugs* yourself, that you haven't really *used drugs* unless you *use drugs the way *We use drugs*.

And then she talked about how *we* (herself and myself included) were living by a loser script of self-destructive tendencies, which is why I am interested in magick, which i personally found offensive.
And she, And she, And she...Oh never mind...

CAVEAT: When I use the term *using drugs* I am, of course, *using a metaphor* and in no way and under no circumstances condone the use of meaningless ritual as the Path to Self-Fulfillment and True Enlightenment for The Elect.
