Appearing In The Dreams of Another

Appearing In The Dreams of Another

We were asked for a ritual to cause a certain specific person dream of the caster. The first thing that springs to mind is a section in Anton Szandor LaVey's "The Satanic Witch" which details sending yourself into the dreams of your subject as a succubus (if you have the book, it's on page 250).

Bear in mind, if you are male, that LaVey wrote this book with women in mind, but the magickal principles remain valid.

LaVey writes:
"All you need is an indelible image of [the subject] physical attributes in your mind, a burning lust [lust for whatever result you wish to achieve from this working should just about do], a place to work it out, and some help from other men [in actual fact whatever sex you happen to be good at seducing will do fine]!"

Basically, you then go about using your naturally attractive features, glamours, revealing clothes, whatever it takes to make people lust after you. This lust energy will act as a charge for the succubus ritual [needless to say, if you don't want the dream to be lustful, you gather a different type of more appropriate energy; for example, fear if you want to create a nightmare].

The main part of the ritual should take place at a time when your subject will have been asleep for at least 4 hours (i.e. the subject should be in REM sleep when you perform the main part of the ritual). Remember to take time zone differences into account.

With regards to the main part of the ritual, LaVey writes:
"Enter your chamber at the prescribed hour and start to masturbate. If you can force [your subjects] image into your mind at the moment of climax, it is highly likely [your subject] will recieve your visitation."

This is a pretty standard technique of achieving gnosis for a successful ritual, and you could do worse that using the masturbatory method whatever your goal. What you will need to do if your goal is not sexual is to also consider the result you wish to achieve by your subject dreaming of you at orgasm.

It may be of help that you have suitably coloured candles, imagery and drapes, and suitable incense burning while you do this.
For example, lust would be symbolised by pink or red candles and drapes, sexual images, and incense associated with lust (there are a lot, including: cinnamon, cloves, and ginger).
If you were trying for fear, black candles and drapes, horrific images, and incenses such as sulphur and myrrh would be suitable.

Another way you could go about things is to attempt to travel into your subjects dreams via the astral plane. You have to be able to control your activities within in the astral plane to have any success like this.
Again you would have to act while your subject is asleep, and again, appropriate incense can be useful.

Object links to the person aren't essential in such workings (although they can be useful), but a certain knowledge about the person is neccessary, otherwise the whole affair gets seriously hit and miss.

There are also quite a few entities that can aid in achieving this sort of effect. You could call upon them to aid your cause in a variety of ways.
These entities include:
Elen - Celtic Goddess, also known as Elen of the Roads, and is said to have supervised the building of roads throughout the realm. The Roman road that runs between North and South Wales is called Sarn Helen - Elen's Causeway.
It is generally thought that this tale has its origins in an earlier legend that became mixed up with an historical tale of Roman occupation, and that Elen is actually an older figure who presides over the dream-pathways, who became associated with a road-building Empress. There is a painting by Chesca Potter of Elen with an antlered deer's head called The Lady of the Ways.

Mab - The Queen of the English Fairies, Mab is sometimes thought to be a descendant of the Queen of the Sidhe, Maeve. Unlike Maeve, however, Mab is portrayed more often as a mischievous sprite rather than a Queen, and enjoys giving people dreams, especially erotic ones.

Rhiannon - Celtic goddess (Welsh, Cornish). In myth Rhiannon's name translates as"divine" or "Great Queen". She is a potent symbol of fertility yet she is also an Otherworld death Goddess a bringer of dreams and a moon deity who is symbolized by a white horse.
In magick and ritual Rhiannon can aid you in overcoming enemies, exercising patience, working magick, moon rituals, and enhancing dream work. She correspondes to mares, silver, blood, the waning moon, jasmine, moonstones, and the color white.

Lilith - mother of the incubi and succubi, she rules the realm of sexual and fearsome dreams.
