King's Quest 5


TOWN
Talk to the man who is fixing the wheel on the caravan. Then go into the tailors and talk to him. Go back out where you will see a coin in the road. Get the coin, go to the barrel, look in it and get the fish. Then go to talk to the owner of the shoe shop and the toy shop. Leave the town.

BEES
If you go left 3 screens you will see a bear raiding a beehive. Throw the fish to the bear. The bear will take it and go away. Then the queen of the bees will give you permission to take some honeycomb. Take some honeycomb and get the nearby stick.

ANTS
Go one screen up from the bees. You will see a dog digging at the anthill. Throw the stick to the dog. It will go away. Then the King of the Ants will talk to you and say he will give you help if you need it.

DESERT
Go back to the tree where the bees are then go 4 screens to the left. You will find an oasis. Go to it and drink the water. Go two screens up, then go left three screens until you find a palace.

PALACE
Quickly go behind the rocks you will see (hope you saved a game!). Two riders will come. Watch them when they open the palace's door (make a note of the magic word). Once they go drink water from the little spring then go two screens right and two screens down. You are at the oasis again. Drink water. When you have done that go two screens left and one down. You will see a skeleton.There is an old shoe next to it. Get the old shoe. Go two screens down where you will find another oasis. Drink water. Now go one screen down and four screens left. There you will see the riders place. Save.

THE NOMADS' CAMP
Drink water from the pool you will see near there. Go inside. You will see the magic staff. Edge carefully round the man and get it. Now leave.

DESERT (again)
Go four screens right where you will find an oasis. Drink water. Go three screens up and two screens right. At the oasis drink water. Go 2 screens North and 3 East you are at the palace again.

PALACE (again)
Go to the pool and drink water. Go north. You'll be in front of the door. Save. Use the staff on the door and say the magic words. The door will open. Go in quickly and get the coin and the lamp. Leave even more quickly. Drink water from the pool.

DESERT
Go three screens East and 2 South, at the oasis drink water. Go 5 screens right and you will be on the screen with the bees. Go 2 screens north.

WAGON
Give the gold coin to the man. After he tells you your fortune he will give you a magic amulet. Go 2 screens east and look around.

FOREST
Wear the magic amulet and go north, then east. You will meet a witch. Give her the lamp that you found at the temple and she'll leave you alone. Go on and go to her house. Go in. You will be on a screen with a gully there is a crumbling log bridge, save, cross it carefully (save every successful step you take). Once you are over you will be beside the tree trunk. Click on it with the travel cursor and pass opposite it. Eat half the meat you are carrying. Go on one screen east. Suddenly a wolf comes and grabs the owl. Quickly use the sledge to go down the slippery road. The sledge breaks. Go one screen east. You see the eagle.

EAGLE
Give him the rest of the meat and go one screen north. You are in the Kingdom of Queen Icebella.

ICE QUEEN

NEST

BEACH
At the beach get the thick iron bar. Go one screen west. You will be in front of a house. Ring the bell. Go 2 screens east. You will be in front of a boat. Put the beeswax on the hole. Fill the hole with the beeswax. Get into the boat.

SEA
Go 4 screens east and one screen south. You will be at the island of the Harpes.

ISLAND
There flying monsters will come and capture you. When they throw you down play music on the harp. Once the Harpies (monsters) leave, get the hook. Go one screen west. Pick up Cedric. Go one screen west and get the shell from the shore. Go to the boat and get in it. Put to sea. Go west until you find the hermit's house.

HERMIT'S HOUSE
Ring the bell. Once the hermit comes out, give him the shell. He will make the owl well. After a conversation takes place, the hermit calls a mermaid. Follow her and you will reach the island of Mordack.

ISLAND OF MORDACK
From the beach of the island get the fish. Go north and you will reach a screen where there are two statues of snakes.

STATUES OF SNAKES
Put the crystals on top of the snakes. Now go one screen north. From the little path go north (next to the entrance). You will be at the side of the castle. On the ground there is a grill. Open it with the iron bar. Go in. You are in a labyrinth.

LABYRINTH
Go south, west, north, west, east, west, east, west, north, east, west. You are in a room with a monster. Play music on the tambourine. When it does a somersault, it will drop a hairpin. Get the hairpin. Go south, east, north, north, north, east. You are in front of a door. Open it with the help of the hairpin. You are in the castle.

CASTLE
You are in the basement. Open the cupboard and get the peas. Go one screen north. You are in the kitchen.

KITCHEN
Talk to the woman. Give her the locket. Go 2 screens east. A blue monster will get you. Let him take you to the dungeon.

DUNGEON
In the north wall of the dungeon there is a mouse's nest. With the help of the anchor, get the cheese inside it. After a while a girl will come to set you free.Talk to her. You will again be at the door outside the basement. Open it and go in. Now go one screen north and two screens east. The blue monster will again try to get you. Throw the peas. Go one screen north, one screen west and one screen north. Save. Go into the right-hand door. You are in a workshop.

WORKSHOP
Go to the top floor. Look at the machine. Go down and approach the vase with your family in it. Try to open it. Leave and go two screens west. You will be in Mordack's bedroom.

BEDROOM
You will see a cat (Mordack's brother who was turned into a cat in King's Quest 3). Throw him the fish and immediately put him in the bag the peas came in. Now go into the library.

LIBRARY
Read the book that is open on the table. Now go next to the black stairs and wait. After a few minutes you will see Mordack going for his nap. Once he goes to bed, go into the bedroom.

BEDROOM
Get the magic wand you find on the stool. Go quickly to the workshop. Go to the machine quickly. Put you own wand in the right side of the machine. Put Mordack's wand on the left side. Now throw the cheese into the machine. The machine starts to work. Once it has finished, get your wand. Mordack comes for the final confrontation.

FINAL CONFRONTATION
Mordack becomes a dragon (flying). Cast the tiger spell (the furthest left). Mordack becomes an (ordinary) dragon. Cast the rabbit spell (the third from left). Mordack becomes a cobra. Cast the mongoose spell (the fourth from left). Mordack becomes fire. Cast the rain spell (the second from left).
