Banishing

Banishing is exactly what you'd expect it to be; getting rid of unwanted energies, influences, or entities. While some magicians prefer not to banish for various reasons (for example, they may prefer give a patron or long-term entity leave to remain or depart as it choses), banishings of various sorts can be particularly useful in magick in general, and in entity work in particular.
Occasions when a banishing should be performed include when an entity summoned only for a specific task has either completed or failed to complete it's task, or when an entity becomes hostile.
Banishing With Laughter
Induce hysterical laughter. Amyl nitrate can come in handy for this.
Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (Short Form)
Draw an upright pentagram in the air with a wand, dagger, sword, finger or whatever, visualising each line appeaing in glowing octarine (i.e. whatever colour you see magickal force as - for me it's a sort of light flourescent greeny/orange) as you do so.
For each line of the pentagram vibrate the vowels IEAOU (pronounced ieee - eeeh - aaah - oooh- uuur), so the first line goes with I - you get the idea.
The order in which the lines are drawn is, as in the longer forms of the LBRP, generally in the form of Crowley's Earth pentagram, which, for banishing, begins with the line from the lower right hand point to the upper point, and continues from there as you'd expect.
The Lazy Gnostic Pentagram Ritual
Marik al-Muad Dib

This is the Banishing Rite developed for group rituals and individual use by the members of the first Z(Cluster) group, the TAZ group of New Orleans. It is really a stripped down version of the Gnostic Pentagram Ritual, originally developed, I believe, by the UK IOT.

Essentially one sings the vowels down, then up. Some of us use hand gestures as we sing each vowel, some of us don't. Some of us visualize a sphere of protection, or a column of energy, some of us don't.

Start with "I", sung high as EEEE
Next is "E", sung lower as AYE
Next is "A", sung lower as AAH
Next is "O", sung lower as OWE
Last is "U", sung lowest as UUUH

Repeat ascending in reverse order.
Other Methods To Banish an Entity
Gather together any object links to the entity that you've been using.
Burn them. Somewhere outdoors where the smoke won't hang about, preferably.
If they won't burn, I leave it up to you to think of a suitable alternative.
Some people reckon burying them would work

Do a rite to gather all stray bits of the entity that are hanging about you and your ritual space into a soluble crystal.
Melt the crystal in a saline solution, preferably sea water.
Get rid of the solution; release it into a body of water or something.

Do a specific cleansing and sealing of your working area from it, again, use plenty of salt, and/or anything else that works against the entity (e.g. one could mix in a small quantity of powdered gold with the salt, particularly if banishing something with lunar associations).

Thoroughly cleanse all the tools you've used in workings with it.
