Improvisational Magick

Improvisational Magick

It is said that a good magician can make a magickal object out of anything.
QED.
These thoughts were gathered by an object being picked at random and occult uses being thought up for it. This is rather an interesting exercise in creativity, and it's a great party game too...

A Crossbow
* Symbolic object triggered at the end of ritual.
* Magickal weapon for use in sympathetic magick
* Wand (particularly for attack and communicatory magick)
* Proverbial enchanted weapon

A Cup
* Chalice
* Make a cup of tea and use it for divination. N.B. it's quite hard to divine if you use tea-bags

Mackerel Fillets
* Divination (sort of like tea leaf or entrail reading).

Method:
First a purification was carried out. The hands were symbolically washed in washing up liquid. The magician opened the can of Mackerel (in tomato sauce in this case) and tipped it out on to a small plate. It was shuffled around a bit with a fork. It was then observed by the magician and the subject (he who was to eat it).

Test Results:
A dead tree was seen in the mackerel, by the subject of the casting.

Interpretation:
Search me - but it must have meant something...

NOTES: Mackerel fillets are nice on toast.

Sellotape
* Ritual Binding Agent
* Good for sticking the words of the ritual to a wall if you can’t remember them.

Disposable Lighters
* Representation of fire.
* Can be used in ritual to symbolize fire.
* Can be used as a fetish for a fire elemental.

A Packet Of Tofu
* Holy/Unholy wafer
* When rotten, really good for throwing at things. Goes splat in a very satisfying manner. As the Catholic church up the road can probably testify.

A Skunk
* A familar skunk?
* Animal sacrifice (not terribly conservation minded, I know, but hey, it’s a use...)
* Use skunk scent as stay-away oil
NOTE: Not to be confused with some skunk, which has a completely different variety of uses...

A Fret Saw Blade
* A very small wand
* An equally small ritual dagger
* Use as a pin in doll magick

A Tube Of Hydrocortezone Cream
* Anointing Oil
* Use to draw a magick circle, especially useful for keeping Pazuzu out.
* Alternatively smear it on his festering boils to put him in a good mood.
* If one desires to disguise mosquito bites by painting sigils on one’s body, it’s great.

Joss Stick Stalks
Burn Joss Sticks which have heavy duty stalks. Collect the unburned stalks. When you have enough throw them while focusing on your intent, to see what sigils and runes might be formed. Use for i-ching when you have enough.

Jelly Beans
* Throw or pick out for divinatory purposes in a similar way to coloured stones. Except you could do it by taste...
* A ritual food offering - possibly to Eris
