Cathy joined November 2001 and mainly worked behind the scenes doing props at that time. She still helps with props in many of the productions. Her biggest challenge was when she helped with the production of Home before Dark. The scene changes were all done with the curtains open (often in the dark). There was a lot of heavy carrying to be done and with a cast of young members to keep under control, it was quite a task. Cathy can also often be seen selling programmes front of house. More recently, Cathy has been coaxed onto the stage. Her first appearance was in Dead Ringer as the Prime Minister's secretary. In that production, her "professionalism" was tested when on one of the nights the gun which was supposed to shoot her dead, did not go off. She was left to ad lib until the sound team were able to provide the appropriate "shot". Unfortunately for Cathy, when the gun did sound out, it left a bemused audience watching her acting out her character's last few seconds to the sound of a buzzer. Nevertheless, this did not put Cathy off. She has since been seen in a range of guises including a young naïve school teacher in Day of Reckoning and an elderly American lady in The Lights are Warm and Coloured. In real life, Cathy is a Bachelor of Science, holding an Honours degree in Management Studies. She puts this to use in her real job as a Manager with the Inland Revenue. She loves going on holiday, mainly to European destinations with her long suffering husband who, on such occasions, can usually be found sitting with her by the pool in some exotic location, helping her learn her lines for her next PP appearance. So if you happen to be on holiday and see a couple acting out strange characters around some exotic pool somewhere in Europe, take a closer look. It's probably Cathy and her husband Rob.
