George Browne

George has been a member since September 2002. His first production with the Progressive Players will be “Laying the Ghost”.

So after flooding the world, saving the animal kingdom and mankind, he decided to go to college in London and in Manchester to study Music.

After a further six, long, merry years, he became a musician playing with many of the big orchestras.

His main instrument being Tuba he also plays violin/viola, sings, composes/arranger’s, teachers, and conducts when he can spare the time!

He moved back to Sunderland in 1988, his hometown. Here he has been involved with amateur theatre for over 15 years, having associations with many Drama, Theatre, and Musical groups in the area.

George's favourite roles to-date have been: James in “Lets Go Down The Strand”; Alan in “Dance Across the Tyne”; Bernard in “Don’t Dress for Dinner”; Lucky Eric in “Bouncers”.
