A DAY IN
THE DEATH OF JOE EGG |
This masterpiece of the 20th century written by Bristol-born Peter Nichols is a hauntingly, autobiographical play. It explores the ways in which a young married couple cope with their 10 year old, severely brain-damaged child. Whilst clearly loving their daughter Joe, Bri and Sheila's relationship is put under unbearable strains by the day-to-day efforts of caring for her. Resorting to jokes and knock-about humour to try and disguise their pain simply makes their anguish all the more poignant. Don't miss this "magnificent, deeply humane and emotionally shattering play" |
