Sylvia Bertie

Sylvia got the acting bug at the age of 6 as a penguin in the school concert and later at 16 played a cranky 65 year old teacher in yet another school production. It is clear that even in these early days Sylvia was to get the "good parts"........no boring glamorous Princess roles for her!

Sylvia was a member of St John's drama group in Newcastle for a few years before moving to Saudi Arabia where she became a member of the Dharain Theatre Group for 10 years, also chairing the production committee.

On her return to the UK she joined the Progressive Players for our production of "Stepping Out" and then took a break of 8 years before returning to appear in "Close the Coalhouse Door" and numerous productions since.

In recent times her credits include:

 Miss Roache's War

Close the Coalhouse Door

An Experiment with an Air Pump

Day of Reckoning

Home Before Dark

A Day in the Death of Joe Egg
