Flooding on the A57

On Tuesday 30/7/2002 a spell of hot weather was broken by severe thunderstorms. A reported 3 inches of rain fell in a very short space of time causing Glossop Brook to overflow in a number of places including the bottom of High Street West and Brookfield. Heavy run-off on nearby roads added to the problem.
