The Town Hall now has open archways at its entrance
without the former shops. The road which used to run between the
Co-op building and Norfolk Square is now pedestrianised. The dome on
Jacksons Buildings and several mill chimneys have disappeared as have
the cobbles and tram-lines.
The new bank buildings can be seen on the corners by
the traffic lights.
