Norfolk Street

Thanks to Daphne in NZ for the early picture. Did they have CCTV cameras in the 1900? No it's a pole for the tram wires on the early photo! The Norfolk Arms in the foreground, the station beyond and the Star at the corner of Howard St in the background all look very similar on both pictures. On the right-handside Barclays Bank and the Conservative club (tall building by the red car) are additions and there are more railings and bollards today. top of page top of page
