Woolley Bridge

Somewhere most people only queue in traffic nowadays but there was a thriving community there once. These photos are all from small prints so are not of high quality, but give some idea of the area in the 1930s-40s.

Lees Street ran at 90 degrees to the A57 where there is now a builders merchants.

Seen here in winter snow, Hadfield is in the distance.

The picture house later built on this site was destroyed by fire in 1929.
