Location

Botanics B&B is located on Inverleith Place, a lovely, wide, quiet road running alongside The Royal Botanic Gardens (North Gate).

The area of Inverleith is one of Edinburgh’s most lovely areas (certainly the greenest!) and it is an excellent location as it adjoins New Town, Stockbridge, Broughton and Trinity.

Access to the City Centre

Inverleith Place joins Inverleith Row (with its excellent bus routes) at one end and East Fettes Avenue and the majestic gates of Fettes College public school at the other.

Walking
Guests can easily walk into the city centre – either past The Royal Botanic Gardens and Inverleith Park, through the beautiful Georgian Streets of Stockbridge into 18thC New Town or actually through the Royal Botanic Gardens to come out of the East Gate and then along Inverleith Row and up Dundas Street to George Street and Princes Street. Either route takes approximately 20 minutes offers a lovely walk through some of Edinburgh’s most sought after streets and areas.

Bus
Very regular buses run from Inverleith Row (a couple of minutes walk from Botanics B&B) into the city centre (Princes Street, George Street, The Mount, The Royal Mile, St Andrews Square, Broughton Street and all major theatres) as well as the buzzing and lively port area of Leith with it’s fantastic bars and restaurants. Bus journeys to both the city centre and Leith take 5-15 minutes depending on traffic.

Biking
Please contact the owner for details of bike hiring which can be arranged. There are fantastic bike routes all around Edinburgh and you are welcome to borrow a bike route map!

Directions from Edinburgh Airport

 

Edinburgh Shuttle
The easiest and quickest way to get to/from the airport to Botanics B&B is by Edinburgh Shuttle. This is an excellent service which will collect or deliver you to the front door of Botanics B&B. Prices from £8 per person single.

Airport Bus
Regular buses travel from the centre of Edinburgh (Princes Street & Waverley Station) to Edinburgh Airport. Prices from £3 single and £5 return.

Car
The drive from Edinburgh Airport to Botanics B&B will take between 25-35 minutes depending on traffic.

Taxi
A taxi to/from the airport will cost around £16 one way.

Directions from Train and Bus Station

Edinburgh Waverley Train Station
The train station can be reached by catching any of the buses from Inverleith Row. If taking the numbers 23 or 27, alight when you reach Princes Street and then walk through Princes Street Gardens to to Waverley Station.  Alternatively, catch bus numbers 8 or 17 and then walk from either North Bridge (bus number 8) or St Andrews Square (bus number 17).  All buses run regularly from Inverleith Row at the end of Inverleith Place. 

St Andrews Bus Station
This bus station can be easily reached by catching the number 17 bus from Inverleith Row at the end of Inverleith Place. The No. 17  bus leaves every 15 mins during the week and less frequently during the weekend and off peak times.
