+loophole - one dictionary definition is an 'outlet', another is 'evading a rule without infringing upon the letter of it'. Certainly we are an outlet for developing art, photography, creative writing and work. Evading rules? We are most definitely a magazine, we have the usual features, news, reviews etc, but we are trying to break new ground as well, without relying on mundane, tried and tested opinions of what a publication should be like. We want to give those who are usually unable to access a publicity medium a way of communicating their work to a new audience as well as highlighting more established artists. We welcome any comments (please contact us initially by post or email <loophole@btinternet.com>).
The print version of the magazine has been supported by the National
Lottery through the Arts Council of England. It is put together by the editorial
section in their spare time along with the help of many friends. Based in Cambridge, the
magazine also covers artists from afar afield as Manchester and Stoke to London and
Glasgow. The magazine can also be found in venues and galleries around these areas.
Although the magazine has been generously supported by a grant, our hope to continue
producing the magazine without a charge to the reader is reliant upon the acquisition of
further sponsorship and advertising revenue. Enjoy.
