I Called Mine Bitch

Acerebic wit, razor-edged put downs, Donna McPhail appearing at the Junction on 16th Oct, has been there, done that. Jo Gorski asks the questions . . .

Donna Mcphail is 'mad for it'. Having turned down a fourth series of The Sunday Show in order to concentrate on her current tour, Donna believes that this could be her best show to date. Taking my pride in my hands I called Donna for an interview, only to discover a St Neots girl with a soft spot for the soaps and an aversion to students.

DM So what is +loophole?
JG Basically we are an Art and Culture magazine based in Cambridge.
DM It's not bloody anything to do with students is it?
JG No
DM Hoorah - one for the townies! I used to live in Cambridge. I lived down Mill Road, you know, down the cheap end and I know what its like - townies v students. I did my O levels and A levels in St. Neots, god help me.
JG Did you hear that the AA missed St Neots off their 1998 road map?
DM You're joking? That's hilarious. They should have left it off. No, honest to god, its the most god-awful town. After school some of my mates went to Bedford, some to Huntingdon, thank god I went to Cambridge. You know when I went to school no-one had heard of David Bowie, it was like 'who's that?'. There was no politics either, just the Tory party.
