WebDataKit v1.1 Installation and Configuration

JDK Version

This software requires a Java 2 SDK (J2SE) and has been tested using version 1.3 standalone and via the Plugin on Windows and Linux.

CLASSPATH

Your environment CLASSPATH must include the jwebdata.jar file provided with this installation.

If you intend to use XML you must also include Java API for XML Processing (JAXP) support. Java Developer Connection members can download the required JAR files - called jaxp.jar, crimson.jar and xalan.jar - or you can use the J2EE Reference Implementation v1.3 (beta). Please refer to for more http://www.javasoft.com information.

GUI Assistant

The GUI Assistant may be run as an application by double-clicking file jwebdata.jar or by typing java com.lotontech.jwebdata.gui.Assistant at the command prompt.

It may also be run as an Applet by double-clicking the index.html file in the home directory. To run as an Applet you must modify the Java Runtime Parameters of your Java2 Plugin, via the Control Panel in Windows, to include
-Djava.security.manager -Djava.security.policy=file:C://wdbcInstallationPath/jwebdata.policy.
