News and Views of Maesteg Round Table

  • Maesteg Round Table regret to have to report the following about our annual Bands at the 7777 event. As it stands at present we have some serious damage to our Marquee - it was blown down and ripped in the gales on the Sunday morning after last year's bands event. This damage must be inspected, quoted for and repaired before any further events can be held in it due to health and Safety and specifically our public insurance issues. We hope to get this repair done in the next few weeks. However this means that our normal first weekend of July date will be unachievable. We are currently exploring all other options to hold the event without a Marquee but venues are proving either capacity or cost prohibitive. As soon as anything is organised we will advertise via the usual means, including the website, banners, posters, Gazette and of course the Llynfi grapevine. In the likelihood that we are unable to run the event this year we will return next Summer with a fully repaired and safe Marquee. In the meantime we look forward to running the Fireworks and Christmas parade as usual. Thanks for your support and interest.
