An Evangelical Evaluation

Introduction

I am pleased to be a Christian evangelical believer.

Evangelical Christians have known and experienced God’s gracious blessing since the time the progressive revelation of Bible truth was finalized in Christ and the apostles. It is complete and is not to be added to or taken from. It is impossible to improve the perfection of God’s Holy Word.

Evangelical Christian’s were often mercilessly tortured and exterminated!

This dark fact of history was pictured in their recorded lives and so often in their martyrdoms. Blood soaked Bibles spoke eloquently, often excruciating pain was staked with exquisite praise and worship.

Evangelical Christian’s continue evangelising.

Evangelical believers, evangelical authors and writers and evangelical preachers and pastors, have done more to declare the gospel in the world than any other branch of the Christian church.

FEM members are continuing to do just this. What a personal calling and ongoing commission is ours today. FEM is Christ centred and Bible based always speaking out in our ministries with a gentle yet strong and positive faith in the Lord. The Bible is inerrant, true truth, wholly without the slightest error. It is free from all falsehood, fraud or deceit both in history and science. The red thread of redemption runs from Genesis to the Book of the Revelation. The Holy Spirit and the Word of God are never opposed to each other.

Our believing prayer is that the Lord will bless FEM as a growing and Fully Effective Membership. Sharing faith together, sharing friendship together. We are evangelical and ever seeking to be effective on every level of Gospel engagement.

Evangelical’s Christian’s can feel more empowered

We have become adapt at caging and controlling all the criticisms that incessantly come our way. Evangelical faith is scary to people who prefer pitch darkness to grope in rather than pure light to walk in. Evangelical salt maintains a level of good taste and purity. Yet many people refuse gospel salt preferring tainted titbits from self proclaimed experts in the art of living in the present day.

Evangelical believers are much less timid or cowed by the unproven condescending pronouncements from a small number of well known high flyers in our government and University Halls of Academia. Some seek to become noteworthy, by damaging Biblical truth, thus undermining faith.

Evangelical continuity

The Gospel of the evangelical preacher and teacher came from heaven.

It is a heavenly life giving Gospel. There is no way on earth it will be destroyed by mincing words emanating from earthly gutters

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (Paul 1 Corinthians 1:17-18)

Evangelical balance

The great apostle also states not only do evangelical preachers have a saving gospel to proclaim bravely but also to balance that with the fact with the sobering judgemental gospel in (Romans 2:16) In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

It really is the case of what goes round comes round.

The gospel of Jesus Christ which we preach today will result in the positive acceptance by those who believe or the final negative rejection of those who hear the truth and consciously decide to reject it.

Evangelical fairness

In reality judgement proves God’s love for us He cares for us. His love is pure and perfect and His love is so strong that He hates sin and any thing that mars or spoils His lovely creation. (Romans 6:23) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. There we have it, both in certain final judgement and continuing eternal love and life. The evangelical gospel is a full and complete gospel.

The choice to be made is always with the hearer. The responsibility of presenting the gospel is always with the preacher.

Conclusion

Evangelical is the word and also the position we use to describe ourselves.
