ANGELS AND THE LORD JESUS

The ministry and service, which Angels gladly rendered their Lord, is an interesting truth and subject, of which more is revealed that one might suppose.

The first angelic appearance recorded in the Gospels is that of the

(1) The Angel of Salutation (Luke 1:28-38)
Who came to Mary, and his name was Gabriel.

(2) The Angel of Annunciation (Luke 2: 8-14)
Who proclaimed to the shepherds in the fields the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ.

(3) The Angel of Warning (Matthew 2:13-15)
By whom Joseph was informed of Herod's resentment and anger, and directed to flee into the safety of Egypt.

(4) The Angels of the Temptation (Matthew 4:11)
On the fourth occasion the Lord Jesus was in the wilderness, when the angels came and ministered to Him during His conflict and testing with Satan.

(5) The Angel of Gethsemane (Luke: 22:43)
The angel appeared in the Garden and strengthened the Lord Jesus during His time of agony and bloody sweat.

(6) The Angel of the Sepulchre (Matthew 28: 2-3; Luke 24: 4-5)
The sixth angelic visitation was the watch and waiting over the entombed body of the Saviour of Men, and one of the angels rolled the stone away. That would have caused angelic joy of the highest degree.

(7) The Angels of the Ascension (Acts 1:10)
Accompanied the Risen King back to his Father's House. Work and Mission absolutely finished and completed

(8) The Angels of the Second Coming (Matthew 25:41)
Will return with the Lord Jesus Christ, when He shall come the Second time to fetch His redeemed and ransomed home to heaven.
