This glorious truth is set in the statement of (Hebrews 13:8) Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, and today, and forever. All may change but Jesus never, glory to His Name. Time for a change, not with Jesus it isn’t and never will be!
The note of time is remarkable. Jesus is the same “today” in glory as He was “yesterday” when on earth. The night of death intervened between these days. That which He is” today” in glory He will “forever” be in eternity.
(1) HIS BODY is the same in glory as it was when on earth. The same Hands that touched children in blessing, the sick with healing, the dead with life, broke bread and lifted the cup of remembrance, which were subsequently pierced with nails, still are open in blessing. His loving Heart He still retains. It is the “very same Jesus”
(2) HIS CHARACTER is the same, understanding every human heart, compassionate. He remains the Saviour of men, friend to the seeking repentant sinner, and absolute Lord to the obedient believer.
(3) HIS NATURES are the same. He is God, He is Man. The Person one, the Natures two, the Person not to be divided, the Natures not to be confounded, Deity in its glory, Humanity in perfect ness meet in Him.
(4) HIS SPIRIT is the same in His grace and operations as this dispensation and age rolls away. He stills convinces of sin, reveals Himself, speaks to every seeker after truth, and leads and teaches the believer in His Name.
(5) HIS WORD is the same. There is no change. Translations abound today they are more of a hindrance than a help to many believers. Essentially the KJV accurately describes the path to heaven that believers travel today as much as when Moses and Abraham, Matthew. Mark. Luke and John talked and walked with God. The old way is the best way simply because it is the only way.
(6) HIS LOVE is the same, unchanging, unchangeable, immutable and eternal. Today it is as free and powerful as it was then. The deep deep love of Jesus.
(7) HIS WILL, Wisdom and Work are the same. This makes the Christian faith so utterly unique among the religions of the world. In our Lord Jesus Christ a glorious and everlasting sameness proclaims the Perfection, Deity, and Eternity. No alteration or change in Him is possible or indeed desirable. “He is the altogether lovely, the chiefest among ten thousand” Worthy of obedience and worthy of worship.
